General Overview of the HALR Dashboard

To find out how HALR can help you grow your business, let’s start with what it is and how it works.

HALR is an easy-to-use marketing tool to help you achieve your online marketing goals.

You run a competitor marketing audit, a website audit and then create a marketing plan. Then use the built-in marketing tools to put your marketing plan into action.

Now that we have explained a bit about what HALR is and what it does, let us look at all the features in more detail and how to get started.



Let’s take you through the sign-up and set up process.

To start using HALR you need to create an account:




We have a simple one-step sign-up and login process. Simply fill in your first name, a valid email address and a password and you are logged into the software, ready to explore HALR and all its features.

Note that the password needs to have at least one capital letter, a minimum of six characters (max 30) and one special character.

Next, you’ll receive a confirmation email where you will need to click the link inside the confirmation email, just so we can make sure that you have used a real email and are not some spammy bot.



Don’t forget to confirm your email address!

Once you have signed up and logged in you’ll be ready to create your first project.




Now that you are logged in to HALR’s marketing platform, you will need to create your first project.


What is a project?


A project is the business website that you are promoting. If your business has multiple domains (websites) you will need to create a new project for each one.

During your 30-day free trial, you can use one project to explore and try out the platform.


If you’d like to try out HALR with more than one website you will need to upgrade to the paid plan to enable multiple projects.

Creating your first website project is a breeze. Click the + Add New Project button (located top-middle of your login screen). Enter your business’s domain (URL), give your website project a name and hit save. Done.

If you only have one project, then this will be your default project. If you have more than one project, you will need to switch between them using the Select Your Project button.

Next, you need to fill out your business profile – and here’s why.

The more we know about your business the more accurate we can be in the support that you are after. Whether you’re selling shoes or safari tours, we’re here to help.

HALR will use your business profile whenever it can to help analyse where you stand in your marketplace and gather information on your competition.

Click on Business Profile and fill out your details – hit save.


Next -> click the NEXT button to connect your social media accounts so that you can manage it all from within HALR.

With HALR you can manage your entire social media presence in just one place, but first, you’ll need to connect your profiles.

On the left side of your HALR platform click on Social Media. Find the Connect & Disconnect Social Accounts button and click that link.




Here you can connect to all your social media accounts, no more bouncing around between Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

As soon as you have connected your social media accounts you can get started promoting your business. From here you can post, tweet, share, schedule and strategize all in the HALR platform.




If you don’t have a social media presence, no need to worry, it’s free and easy to get started. Below are some guides on how to create social media accounts.


To create a Facebook account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to
  2. From here you should see the signup form, fill out your name, email address or phone number, password, birthday and gender. If you don’t see the form, click Sign Up, then fill out the form.
  3. Click Sign Up.

To get started using Twitter follow these steps:

  1. Enter your full name, phone number or email, and a password.
  2. Click Sign up for Twitter.
  3. In order to verify your phone number or email Twitter will send you a message with a code.

  1. Sign up by entering you name, email and a password
  2. Confirm your account through your email address
  3. Once you’ve done this, sign in and get started

Google Analytics is one of the most powerful, free tools out there for monitoring and analysing traffic on your website. Google Analytics is an essential tool for any business owner that will present you with insightful data about the traffic on your website, measure the effectiveness of your marketing efforts, and help you strategize new ways to grow.


Connecting your Google Analytics profile will help us provide you with important stats about your business website when you perform your Marketing Audit. To get started click “Connect Google Analytics” at the top right-hand side of the HALR Dashboard.




Don’t have a Google Analytics account yet? 

No worries, to get started collecting data from your website or mobile app you can easily create Google Analytics account. Visit, click “Sign in”, select the Analytics button (top right), and follow the on-screen instructions.

With HALR there is no limit to the amount of website projects you can create. Simply click the + Add New Project button and give your new project a name. At this stage, you will be asked to purchase a Standard Plan which allows you to create one new project.

When you have multiple website projects you can only work on the project that you have selected. If you need to work on one of your other projects, you will need to switch over to it. Switching between projects is simple – use the Select Your Project button at the top-middle of your HALR interface.







Now that you have set up HALR you’re ready to start marketing your business.

We want you to start out on a set path. We don’t want you to just blindly go forth and play with all the features and modules using an ‘ad-hoc’ approach, trying to ‘guess’ what might or might not work.


You need a plan.


First you need to find out how your website performs online, most importantly how you fair against your top 5 competitors. Performing a competitive marketing audit has numerous benefits and will highlight any shortcomings of your current marketing efforts.


Just answer a few questions about your business and competitors then we’ll use that information to perform a unique Marketing Audit. The software will search the competitive landscape of your specific business then suggest marketing ideas and improvements.


Inside your HALR dashboard, on the left side click on the MARKETING button. You are now presented with 2 options to market your business.


For this example, please select Competitive Marketing Audit.




-> Then – Enter your top five competitors website URLs




-> Then enter your competitor’s social pages.

Simply select the correct social page for each competitor. If we have not found the correct social pages, enter the correct social page manually in the drop-down option.




After this, we’ll look into your competitor’s online reputation and local influence by comparing their reviews online.

Like before, simply select the correct competitor reviews and you’re all done.




That’s all we need! We are ready to let you know how your current marketing efforts stack up against the competition.


The audit may take up to 15 minutes to complete. We will notify you via email once the audit is ready.


Now you’ve got a complete report about how you compare to the competition, what you need to do to improve your position and how to beat them to grow your business.

The report will include issues that we find, highlight the most important ones – and we will make recommendations on how you address them. We’ll also create a To-Do List so you can easily manage all the task that we recommend. There is even an option to assign the tasks to the To-Do List to a team member or a freelancer.



Here are the marketing metrics and channels that will be checked and graded for your Marketing Audit.

Next, we’ll check your Blog Competition as this is an important marketing channel.

If for some reason a post doesn’t go through failures are explained with a specific reason provided by Twitter or Facebook. Common examples include a duplicate post content or exceeding Twitter’s flood policy.
